Project overview
Baked by Wally & Yaya are a local Sunshine Coast bakery specialising in fudge, brownies and lolly boxes. We worked with the client to design and develop a website for their business. The website needed to be professional and provide information and display images about their products and services. An online order form was also needed.
What was our strategy?
We began with a 1:1 meeting to learn more about the client’s business. This included products and services they offer, goals for the website, design preferences and what qualifies as perfect customers.
Using analytical tools and software, we developed a keyword and content plan for the website. This process was guided by discussions with the client and comprehensive industry and competitor research.
We designed and developed a mobile responsive WordPress website. The design of the user website focused on fundamental design principles to deliver a clean and easy to navigate website. Keyword-optimised content that was both engaging and informative for users was written for the website. We know from experience that this type of content is rewarded in search engines. An online order form was integrated so that customers can order any combination of baked goods and have the total amount calculated. The order form is a clear ‘Call to Action’ button found in the top menu.
We developed the website using SEO optimisation. Some techniques included meta information and correct header types to ensure the website has the best chance of appearing in the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). In addition, we configured the website for security with a highly regarded firewall.
Once the website was launched, keyword tracking software and Google analytics were configured to measure how the website was doing in the search engines.
Where is this client now?
Since the website went live, the client has seen an increase in traffic and online orders.
We launched Baked by Wally & Yaya’s website in January and it began ranking for many targeting keywords very quickly in Sunshine Coast SERPs. Two keywords rank number one and three other keywords rank on page one. You can see that several keywords also rank in Google Map Packs (see image above).
From the graph, the performance index of the website increased steadily for 5 months from on-page and technical SEO techniques alone. However, the overall performance index of the website is beginning to flatten without ongoing SEO services.
